There is an outcry in the body of Christ and in this world for the gift of peace. That thing that settles/clears your mind, helps you relax, and takes your fears away. Maybe your peace is a bubble bath with lavendar oil, a glass of Merlot, and Sade’. Do you find your peace lifting weights? Smoking a cigar? Maybe going fishing at 4 am? Maybe your peace is riding in your car listening to Boosie or Tye Tribett with a bag of Skittles and a cigarette. Maybe your peace is working in your vegetable garden. Maybe it’s Rum, Coca-Cola, and Power. Maybe peace for you is a massage or getting your hair done. Someones peace may a long run or a nap after a stressful day. Anothers peace may be prayer in your war room.
My brother, my sister, whatever brings you your peace, there’s nothing wrong with going there cause God knows your heart. Judgement free…let me invite you to meet Peace Himself.
Jesus Christ says to cast your cares, burdens, worries, anxieties, stress, fears, and troubles on Him. He cares about you! Once you’ve died to self you can live for Him and that life gives you brand new strength. See, a life in Christ should not be draining, overwhelming, hectic, or busy. This life, this grace, this PEACE, gives you energy. It rejuvenates and invigorates you. You can feel still and calm right in the midst of your headaches, storms, or trouble. Cast your cares on God. The reason you feel so much stress is cause you’re trying to figure it out yourself when really you need to let go and let God. Invite peace in and kick stress out. To be honest, the peace you will find in a relationship with God surpasses all the other ways you seek to find peace. Wben you are feeling lost, remember this: God is standing in the same spot you left Him, drawing you near…calling your name…waiting for you to accept His hand. You can seek peace in all other things but there is no peace like having the Prince of Peace for yourself.
Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
