The first time that I heard someone say “Obedience is better than sacrifice”, I had no idea how true it really was! God is not looking for the best sacrifice that we can give to Him, He wants us to listen to Him. He wants to see us not just talking the talk, but more importantly, walking the walk. We cannot make our own decisions to obey God, only when it suits us best. We must be mindful of the word we receive from God and follow His instructions without wavering. No matter what we THINK we know or if we THINK we can do better, Gods’ plan is what is error-proof. He is never late or early, He’s always on time. He never makes a mistake or second guesses Himself, only man does that. When we say we want to trust God, often we have to dive in head first, obeying Him, not knowing what may come to us! We just have to simply trust His plan. When you accepted Jesus into your heart, as your Lord and Savior, did you truly realize His life would become yours? In the Word, John 5:19 reads “So Jesus explained, I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does”. If we follow Jesus’ example, we can’t go wrong! We must do as we see our Father do too, work as Jesus does, and listen to the Holy Spirit. We have to obey even when it doesn’t make sense. We must learn to not ask questions or try to barter with God! He is not God Who we can negotiate with so that we can get our way either! What God wants , He wants. His “No” is “No” and when He says “Yes”, it can’t be changed by us or any other man! When God says “Obey”, He means it and as children of God, we must honor our Father. Take heart in knowing, when God asks something of you or tells you to so something, it’s for your GOOD! It may be to keep you out of trouble or to bring peace to your situation. Trust that He sees your obedience to Him as better than any sacrifice you can bring. Don’t mistake false self-confidence, for knowledge of Gods works. His ways are not ours and His thoughts are not ours either. Honor Him with your obedience so that He can bless you with His power!
But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord : your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.
1 Samuel 15:22 NLT
Your sister in Christ,
Blessings and praises to our Father the Almighty in Heaven, He reigns! Thanking God for another day and also for second, third, and infinite chances.
What a wonderful thing it is to serve a God like ours. He who says if we confess our sins and repent, He will forgive us. See God is not like man. Ever heard a person say “I can forgive you but I can’t forget”. Well what good does it do to forgive but not forget? That is the way of man, of the world, of the enemy. The Bible says; “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 NIV) When God gave us free will to make our own choices, He also knew we might choose with our flesh. We must choose with our spirits. We must choose Gods way. Yes, at times it’s hard and you may worry you could choose wrong. God knows your heart my friends! We will eventually grow tired of choosing wrong. Choosing the way of the world only leads to hurt, pain, destruction, false hope, and death. Choose eternal life. Choose God! He will give you rest. You don’t have to carry those burdens. You don’t have to carry a grudge. You don’t have to worry if man does not forgive you or give you another chance because God will! Here is your second chance. It is NOT too late to accept Jesus as your Lord. As He calls unto you, answer Him. He is not mad at you. He does not hate you. He will not “forgive and not forget”. Instead, He will make you brand new and white as snow! He will blot away the transgressions of your youth. Today, my brothers and sisters, is another chance. Choose to forgive YOURSELF and others. Choose Jesus. Choose LIFE! Choose peace! Choose joy! God loves you and adores you. He’s reaching for you now, won’t you reach to Him? Your second chance is in His hand, don’t be afraid to reach back. It can only bring you great things. May God bless all the readers and thank you for your support!
“..as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
Psalm 103:12 NIV
Your sister in Christ,
Good morning and WELCOME to my blog! A place where I will be sharing unto others, the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As this being my first post of many to come, I hope you will stick around to watch me grow as I minister, share experiences and tips, and journal my Christian walk. I look forward to comments and shares as well! If you are looking for a place to gain understanding, have a laugh, be encouraged, and just plain read Gods Word, you’ve found it! Please note, I firmly believe, there is NOTHING that can replace reading the Bible so be sure to study it! The answers to everything that you need in life, can be found in the Word.
Blogging is something I have been encouraged by my family to do for over a year now and I’ve decided yesterday that nothing would stop me from doing it! I have a GOOD word to get out to Gods people, as well as the unsaved and Satan can’t hold me back any longer. As I start today, fresh and new, I ask you to join me in doing the same. Maybe you’ve been teetering on getting saved, stepping out and trying ministry, or even simply purchasing a Bible. My sisters and brothers, I urge you to take that leap of faith. Let NOTHING hold you back from starting fresh! Today is the day and here is your moment, forget yesterday’s mistakes, and embrace a bright future!
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”-2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
