There is an outcry in the body of Christ and in this world for the gift of peace. That thing that settles/clears your mind, helps you relax, and takes your fears away. Maybe your peace is a bubble bath with lavendar oil, a glass of Merlot, and Sade’. Do you find your peace lifting weights? Maybe going fishing at 4 am? Maybe your peace is riding in your car listening to Boosie or Tye Tribett with a bag of Skittles. Maybe your peace is working in your vegetable garden. Maybe peace for you is a massage or getting your hair done. Someones peace may a long run or a nap after a stressful day or time in your war room.
My brother, my sister, whatever brings you your peace, there’s nothing wrong with going there cause God knows your heart. Judgement free…let me invite you to meet Peace Himself.
Jesus Christ says to cast your cares, burdens, worries, anxieties, stress, fears, and troubles on Him. He cares about you! Once you’ve died to self you can live for Him and that life gives you brand new strength. See, a life in Christ should not be draining, overwhelming, hectic, or busy. This life, this grace, this PEACE, gives you energy. It rejuvenates and invigorates you. You can feel still and calm right in the midst of your headaches, storms, or trouble. Cast your cares on God. The reason you feel so much stress is cause you’re trying to figure it out yourself when really you need to let go and let God. Invite peace in and kick stress out. To be honest, the peace you will find in a relationship with God surpasses all the other ways you seek to find peace. When you are feeling lost, remember this: God is standing in the same spot you left Him, drawing you near…calling your name…waiting for you to accept His hand. You can seek peace in all other things but there is no peace like having the Prince of Peace for yourself.
“Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.”
II Corinthians 13:11 NKJV
The blessing of the Lord is upon you! See that glow on your face? The sparkle in your eye? That quiet confidence you have and that endless peace? The “get up and get it” attitude and the tunnel vision you did not acquire on your own. Your latter days are better than your former days my friend. Although you’ve been through the storm, the valley, and the fire…God brought you through because He has a plan for you! Have you forgotten your God is full of grace and mercy? Have you forgotten how good God really is? He sent a Savior to help you, to restore you, to redeem you, and to die for you. For God so loved the world that He sent His only Son to die for us, so that we could accept Him and have everlasting life. Now I don’t know about you but the only person that even comes close to giving their lives for us is our mother but how many know someone that died and rose again for you? Things could be worse and we often replay the bad in our minds, but what if we started replaying the good? Make a list today of all the awesome things God has done for you and count it all to joy. You could be dead but the Lord saw it fit that you rise this morning and for that (plus much more) let’s thank Him! 👏💃😆
“You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God: Your towns and your fields will be blessed. Your children and your crops will be blessed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be blessed. Your fruit baskets and breadboards will be blessed. Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed. The Lord will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven! The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. If you obey the commands of the Lord your God and walk in his ways, the Lord will establish you as his holy people as he swore he would do. Then all the nations of the world will see that you are a people claimed by the Lord , and they will stand in awe of you. The Lord will give you prosperity in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops. The Lord will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them. If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom.”-Deuteronomy 28:2-13 NLT
Sometimes you gotta be like David and encourage yourself. Other times you need a friend like me to come in and remind you that…You are BLESSED!!!
“Let all that I am praise the Lord ; with my whole heart, I will praise His holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord ; may I never forget the good things He does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!”
–Psalm 103:1-5 NLT
What a mighty and awesome God we serve. Aren’t we glad He gives us what we need? He grants our hearts desires. He withholds from us what will hurt us. He protects and provides for us. He heals and delivers us. He lifts us up and gives us life.
Don’t we all owe Him a praise? Not those cute little dance around for 2 minutes and sit down type praises but a praise that showcases we are truly grateful. One that you can’t control no matter what you do. A praise where the tears flow and you can’t control the dance and the deacon/deaconness can’t hold you and you run around and jump up and down and go all out ’cause you’re grateful! A big Christmas morning type praise. A “we made it out of Egypt” type praise! A “welcome to the Promised Land” type praise! A “I been through the fire like the Hebrew boys but I got out” type praise! A “they threw me to the lions but God spared me” type praise! A “my body sick, I lost my family, I been suffering and I’m questioning God but I will trust you like Job” type of praise!!!!
Have you prayed about the situation as much as cried, talked, vented, or worried about it? Are you worrying when you should be trusting God? Do you trust Him with every area of your life or just what you have been unable to bring forth? Have you tried praising God??
Instead of complaining, just start praising. Right in the middle of the valley, without sunshine, feeling desolate, desperate for change, and need some water real quick, you gotta praise God NOW! The enemy gets confused when you start to praise God and God surely gets excited when you start to call on His name! The devil gets mad when you sidestep his confusion and declare that “God is not the author of confusion but of peace”! God rises up and runs to help you when you praise and worship! He is attentive your voice and He listens for it. Start to declare the Word back to Him, He loves that! Start to dance and shout for what He is going to do while you worship Him for what He has done and is doing right now. Our God is awesome and we have to start thinking that way. Our God can do the impossible lets ask Him for the impossible, expecting Him to bring it forth. We walk by faith and not sight! We are overcomers. Let everything that has breath praise our God in Jesus name, Hallelujah and amen!
